NATIONAL TALK WEEKEND
ATTENTION ALL PARENTS
May 21 and 22, 2006 is the First Annual National Talk Weekend sponsored by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. The purpose of this weekend is to encourage parents to take the time to sit down and talk to their kids about the harmful effects of substance use. May MHS Parent Corps Newsletter

MHS Parent Corps April Newsletter
Attention Blue Jay Parents
This month's newsletter features tips for parents on hosting prom and graduation parties. Underage drinking is a growing issue among our adolescents. Recently, Menasha High School addressed this issue through Every 15 Minutes which raises awareness on the community consequences if our adolescents choose to drink and drive. As parents we can change these terrifying trends by realizing that drinking alcohol is not a rite of passage to our teens, it is a dangerous and unhealthy habit that prevents our teens from reaching their fullest potential.

MHS Parent Corps gets support from City of Menasha Common Council
Attention Blue Jay Parents
On March 20, 2006 Mayor Laux and Alderman Forrest Weber introduced the Resolution Supporting Parent Corps in Menasha. This resolution addresses underage drinking awareness and prevention. And, the resolution recognizes the fourth week of April from 2006 forward and Parents Who Host Lost The Most Week in Menasha.
Menasha is the first city in Wisconsin to establish a resolution that supports the parents role in prevention. The Parent Corps appreciates the support of our city officials in our efforts to mobilize parents in our schools and community to help prevent alcohol and drug use in our adolescents.
